B&M

In November, we had the privilege of hosting members of the senior operations team at B&M. One of the UK’s leading BCO’s who drive significant volumes through Liverpool. The agenda was aimed at strengthening our partnership and exploring new avenues to enhance the efficiency and reliability of their cargo movement through the port.

Showcasing the Port’s Operations

During the visit, we further showcased the Port of Liverpool's capacity and capabilities, the dedicated customer service team set up and the value added end to end logistics services we provide here at the port, which B&M utilise.

As already big advocates of the port, the visit further cemented our growing partnership, leading to even more committed volume into the port for 2025

“This visit fully vindicates our decision to shift significantly further Northern bound containers into the Port of Liverpool. I’m sure with continued collaboration and discussions even more volume will be driven through the port during the year!” – Joesph Carey Shipping Manager

Hallmark Cards

Hallmark Cards

Also in November we had the privilege of welcoming Hallmark Cards to the port of Liverpool. Unlike B&M, Hallmark Cards currently do not utilise the port of Liverpool.

Hallmark Cards are located in Huddersfield and are shipping all their cargos into the Southern Ports.

Discussions highlighted the port’s strategic location, only 69 miles from Huddersfield vs 230 from Felixstowe & Southampton. We demonstrated the ports vital role in supporting them in making their supply chain seamless.

Key topics during the visit included:

  • Streamlined operations: How the Port of Liverpool supports faster turnaround times.
  • Sustainability initiatives: Reducing carbon footprints with eco-friendly port practices.
  • Technology-driven solutions: Leveraging data and automation for better forecasting and inventory management.

What It Means for Hallmark Cards

Hallmark Cards are now working with their supply chain partners to find solutions that allows them to ship cargo to Liverpool. The visit opened the eyes of Hallmark Cards to the CO2 and congestion reduction benefits brought by the Port of Liverpool, compared to Southern ports.

Enabling the UK's largest solar network

Work is underway to construct the UK’s largest roof-mounted solar energy system at the Port of Liverpool.

As part of a joint initiative with E.ON, over 63,000 panels will be installed across 26 buildings at the port, generating up to 31MW of renewable electricity. That's enough power to meet the yearly needs of more than 10,000 average UK homes.

This project will help enable our industry-leading 'Net Zero 2040' initiative with the panels removing 6500 tonnes of CO2e emissions each year.
