Peel Ports Sponsors Veteran for Addiction Recovery Programme at Tom Harrison House
Peel Ports Group has sponsored over £14,000 to cover the costs for a veteran to attend an addiction recovery programme at Tom Harrison House.
Tom Harrison House provides a 12-week residential programme tailored for UK Armed Forces veterans and emergency services personnel struggling with addiction. Their bespoke approach is designed for those who have served and may not adapt well to typical rehabilitation programmes.
The sponsored veteran is set to graduate from the programme on 21st March 2024.
Peel Ports' sponsorship aligns with their commitment to supporting armed forces members, veterans and their families. Last year, they achieved the Gold Award from the Armed Forces Covenant for their dedication to providing opportunities and assistance to reservists, veterans and their families.
Additionally to the sponsorship, Peel Ports donated food, toiletries and clothing to Tom Harrison House over the Christmas season as part of their ongoing community support efforts.
Charlotte Haves, HR Business Partner at Peel Ports Group, expressed pride in the company's sponsorship, stating, "We are proud to sponsor veterans needing support on their road to recovery. Tom Harrison House's invaluable program offers tailored support for our heroes, aligning perfectly with our commitment to veterans, reservists, and serving armed forces members and their families. We wish the individual undergoing the recovery program the best of luck."
Glyn Owen, representing Tom Harrison House, expressed gratitude for Peel Ports' support, saying, "It's impossible to put into words the magnitude of the opportunity Peel Ports' sponsorship has given the individual. We had nowhere else to turn for funding, and their support offered him a pathway into recovery that he has embraced wholeheartedly. He has engaged fully with the programme and is beginning to feel the benefits of the positive changes it brings. He is so grateful to Peel Ports and looks forward to sharing his success with them at his forthcoming graduation ceremony."
