Peel Ports Group is pleased to announce that it has made a range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), designed specifically for women, available to its employees.
The news represents an important step on Peel Ports' journey in being a truly diverse and inclusive workplace, whilst further improving safety standards and choice for its employees. This further evidences the Group’s commitment to increasing diversity in the industry.
Automation Technician, Emma Sanders, praised the new initiative introduced by the business suggesting it goes some way to recognising the increasing number of women within the Group.
“The introduction of female PPE really shows that Peel Ports are serious about driving gender equality and it really does make the business feel like an inclusive place to work with the comfort of both men and women taken into consideration.”
The implementation of the PPE was made in conjunction with Arco, supported by Group Store Manager, Andrew Holt.
Andrew said, “As a Group, we knew we needed to become inclusive in terms of the equipment that was made available to our female staff and it's great to be able to offer it to those who wish to utilise it. PPE simply isn’t a one size fits all and although safety will always be the priority, in order to work efficiently, our staff need to be comfortable.”
A number of employees across the Group have already been issued with the new PPE and the rollout will continue as more orders are received.
